Pressing on!

Earlier this year, Brice and I went to ECO's national gathering in South Carolina. It was great meeting other leaders from around the nation and learning more about what God is doing in ECO. We are excited to be a part of this new movement!

We got a chance to share our story and vision for church planting with several leaders. Many were excited for us and committed to pray for us. Some have followed through with some initial financial support! We're really thankful for their investment in us thus far and it encourages us to press on. We'll be heading down to Virginia, New York,  and New Jersey in the next few months to meet with churches who are interested in partnering with us. Please continue to pray for us as we expand our networks.

To help tell our story and our vision, we are working with a videographer. It's been fun thinking through our own stories and how they've intersected with each other and our call to serve in Boston. We look forward to sharing the video with you sometime in May or June.

In the meantime, we are continuing to meet folks who are interested in the church plant along with neighbors and community leaders. We look forward to learning more about their dreams, hopes and concerns for JP. Our aim is to meet regularly by this fall. Please pray that God would continue to open doors for connection to our community. Thank you for journeying with us as we seek the flourishing of our neighborhoods with the gospel.

Heading to Greenville!

Next week, Brice and I will be heading down to Greenville, SC to attend ECO’s National Gathering. It’s the only gathering which brings church leaders together from all over the nation. As relative newcomers to ECO, it’s a great opportunity for us to learn and absorb the values and ethos of ECO. But as church planters, we have another important reason to be there. It’s a great opportunity to share our vision to as many people who will listen. We are hoping for churches to partner and invest in birthing our church that will “make followers of Jesus for the flourishing of the city.”

We’ve already connected with a few leaders ahead of time. They are excited for us and we are excited to meet with them. But we are also hoping to meet more leaders who have a vision for church planting. Our interactions with people that week will be crucial in our ability to take next steps, so please pray for the Spirit’s leading, wisdom, and boldness to share our vision and invite them into relationship and partnership. Also, please pray for our wives and children as they hold the down the fort while we are gone.

In addition, we are holding our first meeting with those interested in joining the plant on Jan 29th. We're excited to finally meet, dream, and pray together. Please pray for that those who come would sense God's leading and calling.

Thank you for your prayers and support. We look forward to updating you!

First ECO Church Planting Conference!
ecoplanting.jpg

We attended the inaugural ECO Church Planting conference last week in Dallas. It was a wonderful time of connecting with other planters around the nation. It was inspiring to hear their stories and to see firsthand the good things God is doing through ECO. We are excited that we can be a part of this movement. Three years ago, there were only 3 planters. Now, there are 45 of us! All of us came back renewed and excited for what is to come!

Developing Partnerships

I (Ken) had the great privilege of preaching at my first ECO church in Quincy, MA. I preached on Luke 9 on how God's MO is to do much with very little. I also shared our vision for the new church and many expressed excitement for what God is doing in Boston through ECO. Pray for wisdom and discernment as we figure out what it means to partner together with what God is doing.
